Who will and won’t attend this year?

While, Pope Francis, Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and President Joe Biden will not attend this year's summit, the Washington Post report said.
What is the agenda of COP28?
One of the key goals of each annual COP is to assess and calibrate the implementation of the terms outlined in the UNFCCC, the Paris Agreement, and the Kyoto Protocol.
This year's main agenda item is the “global stocktake,” an assessment of whether the world is on track to meet the goal of the Paris Agreement, reported Al Jazeera.
Another agenda is to hold negotiations over a new fund to compensate poor countries for “loss and damage” — UN jargon for the ravages of global warming.
According to Al Jazeera, the 13-day conference is also expected to focus on reducing the use of fossil fuels and carbon emissions.
