Chinese man arrested in Delhi for allegedly running a 'spy-ring', Aadhaar Card seized
The man identified as Charlie Peng was arrested on September 13 and since then has been in police custody.
New Delhi: A Chinese man has been arrested by Delhi police for allegedly running a spy ring.
The man identified as Charlie Peng was arrested on September 13 and since then has been in police custody.
As per reports, Peng was whisked by police from Majnu Ka Tilla in Delhi. Police have recovered an Indian passport and an Aadhaar card from him.
Apart from the documents, a Fortuner SUV, Rs 3.5 lakh in Indian currency and 2000 USD and over RS. 22000 in Thai currency, were recovered from him.
Peng had reportedly been running a foreign currency business from his office in Gurgaon. The SUV was seized from his office.
As per reports, the man had married an Indian girl and acquired a passport from Manipur. He has been on rounds mostly in the northeastern states and Himachal Pradesh since five years.
