Dalit Man In Bihar Forced To Lick Spit As Punishment For Not Helping In Sarpanch Elections; 6 Arrested

A video of the incident is making rounds on social media showing the victim kneeling down and licking the floor after several people spat there during the panchayat.

A horrific incident exceeding all limits of inhumanity has come to light where a Dalit man in Bihar's Gaya was forced to lick the spit and drink urine during panchayat proceedings.

Reports have claimed that the man had refused to support the Sarpanch in the Panchayat elections. The angry supporters of the Sarpanch locked him in a room and later produced his before Sarpanch to punish him. They again asked the Dalit man to work in his support, to which he refused and was tortured.

Taking cognizance of the viral clip, Gaya Police filed an FIR at the Wazirganj police station. Gaya SSP Aditya Kumar said that a total of six people including Bithal Singh alias Dharmendra Kumar, Dilip Manjhi, Vijay Manjhi, Indal Manjhi, and Laljit Kumar have been arrested in this case.

Those arrested include the girl's father and brother. The official assured that strict action will be taken against all those who are involved.
