Volkswagen Vento Facelift Launched At Rs 8.76 lakh

The facelift brings minor cosmetic changes along with new GT Line variant and VW Connect

Volkswagen has given the Vento another facelift instead of a generation update. It has made some minor cosmetic changes to the exterior and added a few features. The new Vento’s prices start from Rs 8.76 lakh (ex-showroom pan-India). Volkswagen Vento Facelift Launched At Rs 8.76 lakh The new Polo and the new Vento feature certain common updates like refreshed tail lamps, new front grille design with a honeycomb mesh pattern and new side skirts too. The interior doesn’t get any updates except for the addition of Volkswagen Connect features via a dongle device. The Vento still comes with the same set of powertrains with both manual and automatic transmission options. Volkswagen has also added a new GT Line variant for the Vento which sports dual-tone exterior with a black roof, black ORVMs, rear spoiler and GT Line decals. The Vento’s petrol engine options include the naturally-aspirated 1.6-litre and turbocharged 1.2-litre units, both of which are capable of producing 105PS of max power. The TSI engine is only offered with the 7-speed DSG automatic while the naturally aspirated engine is available with a 5-speed manual only. Vento’s 1.5-litre diesel engine returns 110PS and 250Nm and is available with either a 5-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG auto. The Vento doesn’t fall short on the list of features offered to its buyers. It includes cruise control, upto four airbags, auto AC with rear vents and full LED headlamps. In terms of safety, it gets dual front airbags, rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD, speed alert and front seatbelt warning as standard. In order to improve the cost of ownership for the customers, Volkswagen is now offering a 5-year warranty as standard for all the diesel models. All the other cars still get the 4EVER care package which offers 4-year/1 lakh km warranty and road-side assistance with three free services. The German carmaker also announced that it will be offering an extended warranty package with upto seven years of coverage. The 2019 Vento continues its rivalry against the likes of the Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Skoda Rapid, Toyota Yaris and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.
