Vances Land In India, Kids Seen In Indian Attire: Watch

Vice President JD Vance visits India with his family to strengthen diplomatic ties, exploring culture and discussing trade and defense.

US Vice President JD Vance, accompanied by his wife Usha and their three children, arrived in India on Monday for a four-day visit aimed at deepening diplomatic and trade relations between the two nations. This visit comes at a crucial time as India seeks to avoid steep U.S. tariffs by securing an early trade deal while bolstering ties with the current U.S. administration.

The Vance Family's Attire and Tradition

Vance's family, known for their blend of American and Indian backgrounds, garnered significant attention upon their arrival at New Delhi’s Palam Airport. The Vice President and his wife Usha, the daughter of Indian immigrants, were dressed in formal attire—Vance in a navy blue tuxedo paired with a red tie, and Usha in a bright red dress, complemented by a white blazer. Their three children, however, stood out in traditional Indian outfits, symbolizing the family’s connection to Indian culture.

Both sons, Ewan and Vivek, wore yellow and light blue kurtas and pyjamas, while their younger daughter, Mirabel, stole the show in a blue long dress with ethnic Indian-inspired designs.

The first day of Vance’s visit has been largely personal, as he and his family took time to immerse themselves in India’s rich cultural heritage. The Vice President, his wife Usha, and their children visited the iconic Taj Mahal in Agra, marking the beginning of their journey. Later, they attended a wedding in Jaipur, blending official diplomacy with cultural exploration. A heartwarming moment followed when Vance was seen helping his daughter Mirabel descend from the plane, showcasing the proud father’s affectionate gesture as he introduced her to the awaiting crowd.

Vance’s Diplomatic Agenda in India

Vance’s visit comes on the heels of a diplomatic meeting with Pope Francis in Rome, held on Easter Sunday. During his time in India, the Vice President is scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The two leaders are expected to discuss the progress made since the bilateral meeting between Modi and former President Donald Trump in February. The discussions will likely focus on "fairness" in trade relations and growing the defense partnership between the two countries.
