Toyota Glanza Launch Confirmed For June 6

The prices for the rebadged Baleno will be known soon; petrol engine with manual and CVT option to be on offer

Toyota’s new premium hatchback offering, the Glanza, will go on sale on 6 June 2019. If you’re looking for something exactly like the Maruti Suzuki Baleno but without the Maruti badges, this could be the one for you. It has been confirmed from multiple spy shots of the exterior and interior, that the Glanza will be almost identical to its donor model from Suzuki. Unlike the current Baleno, the Glanza will only be offered with one engine - a 1.2-litre petrol engine that makes 84PS/115Nm and it is BS6 compliant too. This Dual Jet Dual VVT engine will be available with a 5-speed manual and a CVT automatic transmission as well. Unlike the Baleno which is offered in four variants, the Glanza is likely to be offered in just two, well-equipped variants. The top-spec ‘V’ variant which was spied earlier had the same all-black interior as the Baleno and is based on the top-spec Baleno Alpha variant. Glanza’s entry variant is likely to be based on the Zeta variant of the Maruti premium hatchback. Toyota is expected to offer better service and warranty packages for the Glanza to differentiate it from the donor car. It is also expected to be priced at a slight premium over the equivalent variants of the Baleno. Even though it is a rebadged Suzuki, the Glanza will be sold and serviced at Toyota outlets only.
