Chennai: Chief Minister MK Stalin today announced the evaluation criteria for the Class 12 Tamil Nadu Board Result 2021. The Class 12 TN HSC results will be declared on July 31.

Accordingly, the panel of experts with 10 members recommended that the final marks for Class 12 will be based on the proportion of 50:30:20.

As per the announcement, 50% weightage will be given to Class 10, weightage of 20% will be added to Class 11, and 30% weightage will be given to Class 12 practical and internal assessment.

The evaluation criteria is follows:

  • 50% of the marks would be calculated based on the average of highest marks obtained in three subjects in Class 10 final exams.
  • 30% would be assessed on the marks obtained in practical internal exams.
  • 20% would be on the basis of marks obtained in Class 11 final exams.

The students failed in Class 11 will be given 35 percent marks.

The marks of each student will be calculated in the above manner and published on the Education Department's website by July 31 as per the order of the Supreme Court.

Also, the government said it would provide an opportunity to the aggrieved students, who otherwise felt they could have scored more had they written the exam, to appear for the test.

''Students who feel that they have obtained less marks as was calculated through this evaluation criteria will be given an opportunity to appear for the Class 12 written examination if they wish. The marks they score in the examinations so conducted will be declared as final,'' the release said.

The announcement said, the marks of the students will be calculated and published on the website by July 31. Also, the individual candidates will be selected in due course once the pandemic period ends.
