NCP spokesperson and minister in the Maharashtra government Nawab Malik in a series of tweets on Monday informed that National Conference leader and former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir Farooq Abdullah, TMC leader Yashwant Sinha, Sanjay Singh from AAP, D Raja from CPI, Sanjay Jha, Pawan Verma and Sudheendra Kulkarni are likely to attend the meeting.

Besides politicians, eminent people from various fields such as senior advocate KTS Tulsi, former chief election commissioner SY Qureshi, former ambassador KC Singh, lyricist Javed Akhtar, film-maker Pritish Nandy, advocate Colin Gonsalves, filmaker Pritish Nandi and media personalities Karan Thapar and Ashutosh will attend Tuesday's meeting.

The important meeting of opposition parties is taking place a day after Pawar met political strategist Prashant Kishor. This is the second meeting of the two this month amid speculations about the possibility of forming a Third Front to take on the BJP. Sources said that the closed-door talks between Kishor and Pawar at the NCP chief's residence lasted for about one and a half hour.

Earlier this month, Kishor met Pawar over lunch in Mumbai on June 11.

Speaking on the same, spokesperson Malik in a statement on Monday said, "Pawar is working to unite all opposition leaders. Maybe, the meeting was to discuss it."

Prashant Kishor To Skip Meet?

According to reports, Prashant Kishor is not going to be a part of today's mega meet. Hours after his meeting with NCP chief on Mondat, Prashant Kishor clarified that he will not attend the meeting of opposition parties in Delhi. He also said that creation of a third front against is BJP a “futile exercise" and denied his involvement in such “overtures."

"I have no relation with tomorrow’s meet. My meeting today also has no relation with tomorrow’s Rashtra Manch meeting," Kishor said.

Stategist Prashant Kishor, who was part of the BJP's 2014 Lok Sabha campaign, has handled the campaign of several opposition parties including AAP and the DMK. He was instrumental in the Trinamool Congress' victory in the recently concluded West Bengal assembly elections.
