Rajasthan: Dalits Take Out Protest March Over 'Attack' On Bharatpur Rally By Dominant Caste

Bharatpur: The matter is related to the incident that happened on April 14. Ambedkar Jayanti was celebrated across the country on that day.

New Delhi: Members of the Dalit community in Rajasthan's Bharatpur on Wednesday took out a protest march, alleging that a rally held to mark the birth anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar was pelted with stones by those belonging to a dominant caste, as reported by news agency ANI.

There have been reports of protests and migration of Dalit families from a village in the Bharatpur district of Rajasthan. It was told that in the co-village of the district, Dalits are leaving the village after getting upset with the bullies. A video went viral on social media in which a large number of people can be seen going somewhere.

Two things were said about this video. First, it is the Dalit residents of the co-village who are migrating from there. Second, the Dalit residents of the village are going towards the collector's office, taking out a rally against the atrocities committed against them.

The matter is related to the incident that happened on April 14. Ambedkar Jayanti was celebrated across the country on that day. Babasaheb's birth anniversary was being celebrated in Sah village falling under Kumher police station area of Bharatpur district.

A rally was being taken out on behalf of the Dalits of the village. But allegedly this was not allowed to happen. The Dalits allege that during the rally they were pelted with stones and beaten up with sticks by the rioters of the village.

However, ASP Chandraprakash Sharma of the area, while talking to the media, said, "We assured them of fair investigation but they are demanding that the complaint lodged by the other group be quashed, which is not possible."

In such a situation, on Tuesday 19th April, the Dalit families of the village picked up their belongings and left for the collector's office.
