Disagree With Modi On A Lot Of Issues, But Now Is The Time To Unite & Fight: Rahul Gandhi To ABP News

Replying to ABP News’ question, Gandhi said that though he differs with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at many points, now is not the time to bring up those differences.

New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday addressed a press conference over the coronavirus crisis via video conferencing and laid down a number of constructive suggestions for the government for management of Covid-19 transmission.  Replying to ABP News’ question, Gandhi said though he differs with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at many points, now is not the time to bring up those differences. Referring to Rahul Gandhi’s recent tweet where he had termed the lockdown as a ‘one-size-fit-all lockdown,’ ABP News quizzed Gandhi that where does he think the government has lacked in the management of the crisis. Gandhi said that he would prefer answering the question when India wins the fight against Covid , as of now he would stay focused on constructive advise.

He said that the situation needs to be dealt with strategically. He suggested measures such as direct money to reach bank account of poor people, ensuring  food, protection plan for MSMEs. He said there should be strategic opening of lockdown. Also Check: Coronavirus In India LIVE Updates Addressing the mediapersons he said, ‘biggest weapon against COVID19 is testing-testing at scale so you know where the virus is moving and you can isolate, target and fight it. Our testing rate is 199 out of a million, all tests that we've done in last 72 days, works out to approx average of 350 tests per district.’ Push testing aggressively and use testing strategically, to assist the states in their fight, use it not to just track patients but to create a map of India to see where the virus is moving, he said.
