Got Police Permission, Kisan Tractor Parade To Be Held On Republic Day In Peaceful Manner: Protesting Farmers' Claim

Protesting farmers have claimed they got formal permission from Police for the tractor rally. Kisan Gantantra Parade will be held on January 26 in a peaceful manner.

Swaraj India representative Yogendra Yadav on Sunday announced that the protesting farmers have got the formal permission to conduct the tractor parade on the occasion of Republic Day to mark a peaceful protest against the three farm bills. 

"Today there was a short meeting with officers of Delhi Police. We have got formal permission from Police for the tractor rally. As I told earlier, 'Kisan Gantantra Parade' will be held on January 26 in a peaceful manner," Yogendra Yadav said. 

The farmers sitting at the Ghazipur, Singhu and Tikri borders have been making preparations for the tractor rally. Farmers' representative have made it clear that a peaceful parade will be conducted on Republic Day in the national capital to express their grief over the three contentious agriculture laws passed by the Centre last year.

Tractor march will be taken on five routes. More than 1 lakh tractors are ecoected to be seen taking part in the peaceful rally scheduled for the Republic Day. 

The farmers have submitted the route map to the Delhi Police. According to the sources, Delhi Police has put some conditions in front of the farmers. 

The routes for the march have not been finalised yet but according to reports, the tractor parades will start from the Ghazipur, Singhu, and Tikri border points of Delhi. 

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court-appointed panel on the new agri laws earlier this week started its consultation process and interacted with 10 farmer organisations from eight states, including Uttar Pradesh. Currently, there are three members in the panel as the fourth, Bhartiya Kisan Union president Bhupinder Singh Mann, has recused himself from the committee.
