Delhi: Booster Covid Dose Made Free For All Aged 18-59 In Govt Centres

New Delhi: The Delhi government on Thursday announced that the Precautionary dose will be available for free to all eligible beneficiaries of 18 to 59 years age group in all Government Covid-19 Vaccination Centres.

People above 18 years of age have also started getting the third ie Precautionary dose of the coronavirus vaccine.
The cases of Covid-19 are increasing once again in the country. The infection rate has increased in many states including Delhi, Maharashtra, UP. After the increase in corona cases, masks have once again been made mandatory in many cities.

Earlier this month, the Delhi government had said that a precautionary dose of coronavirus vaccine would soon be provided free of cost to people in government hospitals. This step by the government has come to the fore after a sudden spurt in the cases of infection in the national capital.
Recently the central government also introduced a precautionary dose of Covid-19 vaccines for all people above the age of 18 years at private centres. As per the guidelines of the centre, those who have completed nine months after taking the second dose are eligible for a booster dose.
On Wednesday, 1,009 cases of coronavirus were reported in the national capital and 1 person died during this period. Now the positivity rate in Delhi has also increased to 5.70% and the number of active patients has increased to 2,641.
