Data Of Andhra Citizens Collected By Volunteers Being Stored In Telangana, Says Pawan Kalyan

Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan continued his tirade against Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy over the volunteer system, and questioned him on storing public data in a private agency based in Hyderabad.

During a public meeting in Tadepalligudem as part of the Varahi Yatra's second phase, Kalyan claimed that the data collected through volunteers in the state was being stored in Nanakramguda, Hyderabad. He demanded an explanation as to why an agency in Nanakramguda had access to the personal data of Andhra Pradesh's residents.

Pawan Kalyan also inquired about the source of salaries for the 700 people working at the agency. He expressed concerns about the functioning of the volunteer system, highlighting instances where volunteers were allegedly involved in illegal activities such as red sander smuggling, liquor trade, and thefts.

He further questioned who was heading the volunteer system, drawing a comparison with the Red Cross, which is headed by the President at the national level and the Governor at the state level.

The Jana Sena Party leader accused some volunteers of threatening people in various places.

Pawan Kalyan also questioned the introduction of the volunteer system parallel to the legislature, executive, and judiciary. He expressed concern about the lack of a regulatory mechanism to oversee the volunteer system in case something went wrong.

Earlier, Pawan Kalyan alleged that data collected by volunteers from women in villages and towns was being exploited for human trafficking and other criminal activities. He mentioned that Central intelligence agency officials in New Delhi had informed him about extensive human trafficking in Andhra Pradesh, posing a threat to women and girls through the volunteer system.

Pawan Kalyan claimed that during 2019–20, an estimated 30,000 girls and women went missing, with only 14,000 of them returning home.
