Elon Musk Holds Relaunch Of Twitter Blue Verified, Says Will Use Different Colour Checks

Musk said that he might change color of verified checks for organizations and individuals.

Twitter CEO Elon Musk on Tuesday said that he is putting on hold the relaunch of Blue Verified until there is high confidence of stopping impersonation. He said that he might use different colour check for organizations and individuals.

Earlier, Musk has launched the Twitter Blue subscription for the iPhone and iPad users on November 10, after a short delay. The subscription costs $8 per month. According to Musk, twitter users who have subscribed to the $7.99 package will instantly get the Twitter blue tick instantly.

However, it was paused a day later. The next launch date was announced as November 29, which has now been potponed yet again.

On Saturday, former United States president Donald Trump's Twitter account "reappeared" on the microblogging site after Elon Musk announced lifting 22-month suspension of the account, reported news agency AFP. Trump's account was suspended over incitement of violence at the US Capitol Hill on January 6 last year. The reinstatement of Trump's account came after Twitter chief Elon Musk conducted a poll wherein votes in favour of revoking the ban won by a margin of 4%.

Slightly over 15 million Twitter users voted in the poll with 51.8% voting in favor of reinstatement.

"The people have spoken. Trump will be reinstated. Vox Populi, Vox Dei," Musk announced.

Musk on Saturday has also revealed the microblogging platform's new policy pertaining to account suspensions and restricting negative tweets as he announced lifting the bans on some suspended accounts.

“New Twitter policy is freedom of speech, but not freedom of reach. Negative/hate tweets will be max deboosted & demonetized, so no ads or other revenue to Twitter. You won’t find the tweet unless you specifically seek it out, which is no different from rest of Internet,” he wrote.
