In February, an explosives-laden Scorpio was found near industrialist Mukesh Ambani's house in south Mumbai with a threat letter inside. A Thane-based businessman Mansukh Hiran, who was in possession of the SUV, had claimed that it had been stolen a week earlier, but the case got murky when he was found dead in a creek in Thane on March 5.
Soon, Singh was removed from the post of Mumbai police chief last month. The NIA probing the case, arrested Crime Branch police officer Sachin Vaze and seized several high-end vehicles used by him in connection with the case. Vaze has also been accused of being involved in Mansukh Hiran's death.
