New Delhi: Slain journalist-turned-activist Gauri Lankesh’s mother Indira and sister Kavita on Friday joined Rahul Gandhi for Bharat Jodo Yatra. Lankesh, popular for her views against right-wing Hindu extremism, was assassinated outside her home on September 5, 2017 in Rajarajeshwari Nagar, triggering outrage and protests against Hindutva forces all over India.

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi took to Twitter to share a photo with Lankesh’s family on social media. "I stand for Gauri Lankesh and countless others like her, who represent the true spirit of India. Bharat Jodo Yatra is their voice. It can never be silenced," Rahul Gandhi, who is leading the Bharat Jodo Yatra, captioned the photo.

Late Gauri Lankesh was known for her poignant attacks on the Hindutva forces, especially RSS. She was also closely involved in bringing Naxals to mainstream society.
Sonia Gandhi joins Bharat Jodo Yatra in Karnataka
Congress president Sonia Gandhi, 75, on Thursday morning joined the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Karnataka amid loud cheers and sloganeering by party workers. Rahul Gandhi, who is spearheading the campaign, will stay in Karnataka for 15 days before moving into Telangana. The 3,570 km long Bharat Jodo Yatra started on September 8 in Kanyakumari and has so far covered 600 km across the southern states of the nation.
