Maruti XL6 Expected Prices: Will It Be Value For Your Money?

With a rugged and sportier design along with additional features, how much of a premium will the Maruti XL6 ask over the Ertiga?

The XL6 will be the first MPV to go on sale from Maruti’s Nexa dealerships. It gets some rugged cosmetic updates and additional features over the Ertiga, the car it is based on. With its launch scheduled for 21 August, how much of a premium price tag would the XL6 command over the Ertiga? Bookings for the XL6 can be made through the Nexa website, app or dealerships for a token amount of Rs 11,000. The 1.5-litre mild hybrid petrol engine from the Ertiga will be carried over to the XL6, with a 5-speed manual as standard. The two variants that it will be available in are Zeta and Alpha, with a 4-speed automatic option for both. The expected prices of the XL6 are as follows. The XL6 will be slightly pricier than the Ertiga. The Zeta variant will be based on the ZXi and the Alpha will be based on the ZXi+ variants of the Ertiga. Both trims are expected to offer premium features like multi-reflector LED headlamps with DRLs, faux skid plates, all-black treatment inside-out, leatherette upholstery, new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment and cruise control. However it is not clear which variant of the XL6 will get what additional features over the Ertiga. Apart from the safety features already offered on the Ertiga including dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, the XL6 will also come equipped with hill hold assist and ESP as standard. It would be unfair to compare the variant-wise pricing of Maruti XL6 to its rivals as, other than the Ertiga, none of them offer a petrol engine. So here’s a combined price range of the XL6’s competitors irrespective of the drivetrains they are offered with.
