Maharashtra: Uddhav Thackeray-Led Faction Moves SC Over Governor’s Decision To Invite Shinde To Form Govt
Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde and Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis are scheduled to arrive in New Delhi on Friday for a two-day visit, their first tour after taking office
New Delhi: The Uddhav Thackeray-led faction has moved the Supreme Court over Maharashtra governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari’s decision to invite Eknath Shinde to form government in the state, reported news agency ANI. This comes after Eknath Shinde-led won the trust vote by 164-99 margin in Maharashtra Legislative Assembly on July 4.
Eknath Shinde became the Chief Minister of Maharashtra after he turned rebel along with 39 other MLAs against his party Shiv Sena toppling the Maha Vikas Aghadi government — an alliance between the Shiv Sena, Nationalist Congress Party and Congress. After the MVS government was pushed to a minority in the House, Uddhav Thackeray resigned from the post of Chief Minister and also legislator from the Maharashtra Assembly

While Eknath Shinde was sworn-in as Maharashtra’s Chief Minister, former CM Devendra Fadnavis took the oath as deputy to Shinde.
Shinde and Fadnavis are scheduled to arrive in New Delhi on Friday for a two-day visit, their first tour after taking office. Both the leaders will reportedly meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and BJP National President JP Nadda.
CM Shinde's tour itinerary states that he will take a government-chartered flight for New Delhi on Friday evening, stated a report by news agency PTI. Later, the Chief Minister and his Deputy will meet senior leaders such as PM Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President JP Nadda, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday, the report stated further.
