Lok Sabha Election Results 2019: Google showing Indian elections across search, Assistant and YouTube
On YouTube, over 150 news channels are bringing live election results coverage through the day
Tech giant Google Thursday said it is bringing live updates on the Indian elections live across Search and YouTube.
“We are showing live election results, sourced from Election Commission of India through Nielsen, on Search and on the Assistant (across Android, iOS and KaiOS). You can find national level results as well as constituency level results,” Google said in a blog post.
On YouTube, over 150 news channels are bringing live election results coverage through the day, it added.
These include NDTV, AajTak, ABP Majha, ABP Ananda, TV9 Telugu Live, Puthiyathalaimurai TV, Public TV, Asianet News, OTV News and News18 Urdu, among others, the blog post said.
“For the 2019 Indian Elections, Doordarshan is bringing inclusive live result experience to users on YouTube... Live audio news will be available on News on AIR YouTube Channel,” it said.
The counting of votes for 543 seats will be elected the 17th Lok Sabha of our country, where the fate of over 2,000 parties and their 8,000 candidates has been decided and will be out today.
It is the first time that VVPATs will be used in a Lok Sabha election and they have become an issue of intense political debate with opposition parties keen on their use in greater numbers and also on matching the count with EVMs before the counting process begins in each constituency.
In case of any discrepancy between the VVPAT count and the EVM results, the printed paper slips count is taken as final, according to PRS Legislative Research, a non-profit research organisation.
