The feature-loaded compact SUV will offer a range of powertrains
Kia is set to make its India debut with the launch of the Seltos scheduled for 22 August 2019. Bookings for the upcoming SUV are now open and can be placed online or at any of Kia’s 206 touchpoints across the country. The booking amount is Rs 25,000.
The Kia Seltos will be available with three BS6-engine options: a 1.5-litre petrol, a 1.4-litre turbo-petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel unit. The details of the Seltos’ powertrain options are as follows:
It will be offered in just two variants at the time of launch, Tech Line and GT Line, both of which will be well equipped. The Seltos features LED headlamps, tail lamps, DRLs and fog lamps that highlight its distinct styling. Inside too, Kia keeps things premium with leatherette upholstery, reclining rear seats, sunroof and ventilated front seats. The GT Line also gets sporty aesthetics such as red brake callipers, front sports seats and red accents.
The Seltos’ safety features list includes front and rear parking sensors, six airbags, ISOFIX child seat anchor and a 360-degree camera view. It also gets ABS, hill-start assist, brake force assist, electronic stability control and vehicle stability management.
Kia is offering plenty of comforts and conveniences in the Seltos such as a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system which also gets UVO Connect with an eSIM for connected car features. It also gets a segment-first 8.0-inch heads-up display unit and the instrument cluster has a 7-inch MID. The Seltos also gets the extra premium feel from the 400W Bose premium sound system and multi-colour ambient lighting system.
At launch, the Seltos is expected to be priced between Rs 10 lakh and 16 lakh (ex-showroom). Kia’s upcoming compact SUV will be going up against the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Maruti S-Cross, Renault Captur and Duster, and Nissan Kicks. Its pricing would also have it competing with larger 5-seater mid-size SUVs such as the MG Hector and Tata Harrier.
