The Delhi Police is likely to file the chargesheet in the sexual assault case against president of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh on Thursday. He also said that the wrestlers had agreed to withdraw all forms of protest till June 15.

At a meeting last week, the wrestlers placed four demands — the arrest of WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, withdrawal of FIRs against the wrestlers, removal of Brij Bhushan and any of his family member from the WFI, and appointment of a woman president in the apex wrestling body. The sports minister has so far agreed to one of these demands — that of withdrawal of FIRs. Thakur also said that an internal grievance redressal committee will be formed in the WFI and this should be headed by a woman.
The wrestlers have been demanding a probe against WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh and his arrest, accusing him of sexually exploiting upcoming wrestlers, including a minor.
Singh, who is a BJP MP, said: "Let the chargesheet get filed, I do not have to say anything. The matter is in the Court, let's wait for the verdict." Brij Bhushan Singh on Sunday announced that he plans to run for the Kaisarganj seat in the Lok Sabha elections next year.
Brij Bhushan has consistently denied the allegations, asserting that Congress leaders from Haryana conspired against him due to his reforms as the WFI chief. During his rally speech, he proclaimed the BJP's inevitable return to power in the 2024 elections, while criticizing the Congress party.
