"What goes around comes around," Vadra tells Kejriwal on allegations of corruption

NEW DELHI: Businessman and Congress President Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra on Monday attacked Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on allegations of corruption by Kapil Mishra, saying people who threw "baseless" and "false accusation" at him are now facing a similar plight. However, Vadra asserted that he hopes Kejriwal comes out clean for the sake of the people who believed in him. "From inception in 2010, the people who threw baseless, false accusations at me are now having to face a similar plight. That too from an insider who claims to have substantial proof," he said in a Facebook post. The businessman said politicians leveled false accusations against him in the past to divernt public attention. "Well, I've borne so many false accusations from various politicians, mostly to gain publicity for themselves or divert the public mind from important national issues that I'd like to see how this one plays out. Had been on the receiving end, of a political and media campaign to malign me," he said in a post titled "what goes around comes around". "I sincerely wish Mr. Kejriwal all the best. I hope he comes out clean for the sake of the people who believed in him," Vadra said. "Also for the respect of his immediately family, especially the children, for whom such trials by media, of those they love and look up to are painful and sad," he added. Arvind Kejriwal had accused Vadra of corruption in land deals and providing illegal benefits to real estate major DLF in Haryana when the previous Congress government was in power for 10 years. Senior AAP leader Kapil Mishra, who was sacked by Arvind Kejriwal from his cabinet, on Monday accused Delhi chief minister of taking Rs 2 crore from his cabinet colleague. "I saw with my own eyes Satyendar Jain giving Rs 2 crore in cash to Arvind Kejriwal at his residence. When I asked Kejriwal, he said such things happen in politics and it will be revealed later," Mishra had said. Later Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said the allegations of corruption levelled by Mishra did not merit a response. "His allegations do not merit a response. He has been sacked due to poor performance," Sisodia said. "The allegations are so absurd and there are no facts," he added.
