Weather Update: Cold Wave Grips Delhi As Temperature Sees Slight Dip, Fog Engulfs UP's Meerut
The national capital continued to witness chilling mornings as the temperature in the city saw a slight dip.
Weather Update: A cold wave gripped the national capital, and a thin layer of fog covered the city on Sunday morning as Delhiites continued to witness chilling mornings. The temperature in Delhi on Sunday morning was recorded at 9.4 degrees Celsius, according to the India Meteorological Department. On Saturday, the minimum temperature was 9.6 degrees Celsius, according to IMD data.

In Uttar Pradesh, a dense layer of fog shrouded Meerut as the temperature dropped further in the city.

Meanwhile, Punjab and Haryana have been witnessing cold weather conditions for the past few days. Cold weather conditions prevailed in most parts of the states on Sunday. While Balsamand in Hisar was the coldest place in Haryana, recording a minimum temperature of 4.9 degrees Celsius, it was followed by Bhiwani (6.2 degrees Celsius) and Jhajjar (6.7 degrees Celsius), as reported by news agency.
According to the Meteorological Department, Karnal recorded a low of 7.4 degrees Celsius while Narnaul registered a minimum of 6.2 degrees Celsius. Chandigarh, the common capital of the two states, recorded a low of 8.1 degrees Celsius.
In Punjab, cold weather prevailed in Bathinda, which recorded a low of 6 degrees Celsius while Patiala registered a minimum of 7.2 degrees Celsius.
On Saturday, Bathinda was the coldest place, with a minimum temperature of six degrees Celsius.
According to the IMD data, Punjab, Ludhiana, Patiala, and Amritsar recorded respective minimum temperatures of 9.2, 8.6, and 11 degrees Celsius, respectively. Pathankot, Gurdaspur, and Faridkot recorded their minimum temperatures of 12.9, 6.5, and 10.5 degrees Celsius, respectively.
In neighbouring Haryana, Karnal recorded a minimum of 8.7 degrees Celsius, while Fatehabad's minimum temperature was six degrees Celsius. Hisar, Bhiwani, Sirsa, Ambala, and Narnaul recorded their respective minimum temperatures at 6.5, 8, 9, 10.5, and 10 degrees Celsius.
