Weather Update: Delhi, Adjacent States To Receive Very Light Rainfall In Next Two Days, Says IMD

A western disturbance in Iran can cause light rain over the western Himalayan region for next 4-5 days and very light rainfall in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, UP and Delhi-NCR for the next two days

In a respite from summers, Delhi and other adjacent states are expected to receive very light rainfall in the next two days, said the India Meteorological Department. A western disturbance in Iran can cause light rain over the western Himalayan region for next 4-5 days and very light rainfall in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi-NCR for the next two days, the MeT department said. 

Light rainfall activity is expected over the western Himalayan region over the next 4-5 days due to a Western disturbance over Iran. Very light rainfall is expected over Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, UP and Delhi NCR in the next two days. After this temperature is expected to rise: Naresh Kumar, senior scientist at IMD-Delhi told news agency ANI.

Heavy Rainfall, Hailstorm In Rajasthan. 4 Killed 

Heavy rainfall and hailstorm occurred at isolated places in Rajasthan on Sunday, the weather department, as per a PTI report. 

In the last 24 hours, Bonli (SawaiMadhopur) recorded 6 cm of rain, Chittorgarh 4 cm, Rashmi 4 cm, Mavli 4 cm and Kumbhalgarh 4 cm.  Various places across the state recorded 1 to 3 cm of rainfall during the period.  On Saturday, Bundi was the hottest place in Rajasthan with a maximum temperature of 41 degrees Celsius while Barmer recorded a high of 40.8 degrees Celsius. 

Four people, including a woman and her two sons, were killed while three others were injured in rain-related incidents in Ajmer and Jaisalmer districts, said the police on Saturday, as per a PTI report. 

The MeT department has issued a an alert for thunderstorms with heavy rains in many areas of the state on Sunday.

Heatwave In Bihar, Bengal

Bihar and Bengal continued to reel under heatwave conditions. Khagaria in Bihar recorded  the highest temperature in the state at 42.8 degrees Celsius, the IMD said on Friday. Sixteen places across Bihar recorded temperatures of 41 degrees Celsius or more, including Patna.

Several parts of West Bengal are also reeling under scorching heat as the Met department on Friday forecast heatwave conditions to prevail in the state's hill districts of Darjeeling and Kalimpong for the next three to four days.
