Vishnu Deo Sai Oath Ceremony: Vishnu Deo Sai will be sworn in as Chhattisgarh's Chief Minister in a ceremony scheduled for December 13. PM Narendra Modi will take part in the event.

Vishnu Deo Sai Oath Ceremony: Vishnu Deo Sai, the Chief Minister-designate of Chhattisgarh, is set to take the oath of office on December 13 at a ceremony in Raipur. The event, to be held at Science College Ground in the state capital at 2 pm, will be graced by the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other distinguished dignitaries. The announcement was made on Monday through an official release from the state public relations department, news agency PTI reported.

Vishnu Deo Sai, aged 59, will be the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s first tribal Chief Minister. Alongside him, the cabinet ministers will also be sworn in, adhering to constitutional norms that allow a maximum of 13 ministers, including the Chief Minister, for Chhattisgarh, which has a 90-member assembly.

The ceremonial swearing-in will witness the attendance of several prominent figures, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President JP Nadda, Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, BJP's Chhattisgarh in-charge Om Mathur, and Chief Ministers from various states, PTI reported.

The BJP has also appointed two Deputy Chief Ministers for the state, Vijay Sharma and Arun Saw along with the announcement of the Chief Minister's name.

On Sunday, the BJP resolved the speculation surrounding the leadership in Chhattisgarh by selecting Vishnu Deo Sai, a prominent tribal leader, as the Chief Minister. The decision was made during a meeting of 54 newly-elected MLAs at the party's state headquarters.

Subsequently, Chhattisgarh Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan extended an invitation to Sai to form the government, providing him with the official appointment letter as Chief Minister.

Following the meeting with the governor, senior BJP MLA Brijmohan Agrawal confirmed the submission of a letter, formally declaring Sai as the legislative party leader. The letter, presented by BJP's state president Arun Sao, mentioned Sai's election as the leader of the legislative party and expressed the party's claim to establish the government. The governor, in response, congratulated Sai and handed him the letter formalising his appointment as Chief Minister under Article 164 of the Constitution, inviting him to form the cabinet.

On Monday, the Chief Minister-designate visited the Ram Mandir in Raipur and prayed for the development and prosperity of the state, as per the BJP's Chhattisgarh unit.

The BJP emerged victorious in the state with 54 out of the total 90 assembly seats. In contrast, the Congress, which secured 68 seats in 2018, faced a considerable setback, managing to secure only 35 seats this time. The Gondwana Gantantra Party, a regional outfit, won in one segment.
