Joyce George stirred controversy when he said that the former Congress president visits only women’s colleges and asked the girls to be “cautious”.
Irattayar: Former Idukki MP Joyce George has apologised for his remarks wherein he called Congress Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi an “unmarried trouble maker” while campaigning for State minister MM Mani ahead of the assembly election in Kerala.
Joyce George stirred controversy when he said that the former Congress president visits only women’s colleges and asked the girls to be “cautious” while dealing with him.

“I unconditionally withdrew and publicly apologised when I realized that there had been an inappropriate reference on my part. The controversy helped me to create awareness of the need for caution not only in public speech but also in private conversation,”: Joyce George said after facing criticism, putting LDF in an uncomfortable situation.
He was addressing an election rally at Irattayar in Kerala’s Idukki district on Monday where he made suggestive comments against Rahul Gandhi.
"Rahul Gandhi's programs are held only in women's colleges. He goes there and teaches girls how to stand straight, how to bend," he reportedly said.
“Girls never bend down in front of him… he is an unmarried trouble maker,” PTI quoted George as saying.
Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had distanced himself from George’s comments while interacting with the media in Kasaragod on Tuesday stating the Left Democratic Front (LDF) will oppose Gandhi “politically not personally”.
