Union minister Nitin Gadkari faints at an event in Maharashtra's Ahmednagar
The 61-year-old BJP leader was in Ahmednagar for the convocation ceremony of the Mahatma phule agricultural college.
Mumbai (Maharashtra): Union minister Nitin Gadkari fainted at an event in Ahmednagar this afternoon. Gadkari fell unconscious while standing at a function but was immediately assisted by Maharashtra Governor C Vidyasagar Rao and his security guard standing beside him. They made him sit on a chair and was later taken to the hospital. His condition is said to be stable.
Reports say Gadkari fainted due to low blood sugar in his body and was given something sweet to chew by the doctors attending him.
The 61-year-old BJP leader was in Ahmednagar for the convocation ceremony of the Mahatma Phule agricultural college.
In 2010, while he was in the Opposition, Gadkari fainted standing atop a vehicle while on his way to Jantar Mantar for an anti-price hike rally.
