Media Connected People With Outside World During Covid Lockdown, Says Union Minister Anurag Thakur

Anurag Thakur said that the Covid crisis has been a time for testing for everyone. He said that during the lockdowns, media connected people with the outside world.

Union Minister Anurag Thakur on Monday said that the Covid crisis has been a time for testing for all of us across the globe. During his address at the Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union General Assembly, Thakur said that due to lockdowns, it was the media that connected people with the outside world.

In such situations, providing the right timely info becomes the media's responsibility, he added. “Covid crisis has been a time for testing for all of us across the globe. The Information and Broadcasting Minister further said that the broadcasters in India and Indian media, in general, ensured that Covid 19 awareness messages and important government guidelines reached everyone, in every nook and corner of this country.

“Indian broadcasters and Indian media, in general, ensured that Covid 19 awareness messages, important govt guidelines and free online consultations where doctors reached everyone, in every nook and corner of this country,” Thakur said.
