Umesh Pal Case: Medical Report Reveals Asad Suffered 2 Bullet Injuries, FIR Says Accused Were Alive After Encounter

The medical report of Asad Ahmad, killed in an encounter by Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (UPSTF) for his alleged involvement in the murder of Umesh Pal in Prayagraj has revealed he had two bullet injuries. While one hit him on the chest the other hit him on the back. Ghulam on the other hand was hit by a single bullet on his back in the encounter with the STF.
These two accused, along with their accomplices, killed Umesh Pal in Prayagraj on February 24, in which two UP police constables were also martyred.
Meanwhile, the FIR report states that both Asad and Ghulam were alive after the encounter and were rushed to the local hospital but were declared dead by the doctors.
"Police brought them here. After medical examination, they were declared dead. Asad had two bullet injuries whereas Ghulam had only one. I think they died 1.30-2 hours before they were brought here. Their post-mortem has been conducted," said Dr Narendra Sengar, MD, Jhansi Medical College, according to ANI.
What does the police have to say about the encounter
The UP Police and STF were looking for Asad and Ghulam for almost the last two months. According to the information given in the press conference by UP Police, the UP STF team tried to intercept them in Jhansi where they opened fire on them and the police team had to retaliate their safety.
Special Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Prashant Kumar said, Asad Ahmed and Ghulam, wanted in the Umesh Pal murder case in Prayagraj, were crooks with a reward of five lakh rupees each.
Who were part of the encounter team
The Uttar Pradesh STF team involved in the encounter was led by Deputy Superintendents of Police Navendu Kumar and Vimal Kumar Singh. After the encounter, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav said that the BJP government is trying to divert attention from the real issues by doing such encounters.
According to Prashant Kumar, the police headquarters along with Additional Director General of Police (STF) Amitabh Yash, two deputy superintendents of police, two inspectors, one sub-inspector (SI), five head constables and two commandos were involved in the operation.
Umesh Pal Murder
Umesh Pal, a key witness in the 2005 murder case of then BSP MLA Raju Pal, and his two police security guards were shot dead outside his home in Prayagraj's Dhoomanganj area on February 24 this year. Based on a complaint lodged by Umesh Pal's wife Jaya Pal, a case was registered on February 25 against Atiq Ahmed, his brother Ashraf, Asad, Ghulam, and others.
