Uddhav Vs Shinde: Security Arrangements In Place Ahead Of Shiv Sena Factions Dussehra Rallies In Mumbai

While Uddhav Thackeray will address Shiv Sena's traditional Dussehra rally at Shivaji Park, CM Eknath Shinde will hold the event at MMRDA ground in Bandra-Kurla Complex.

New Delhi: Mumbai will witness two separate Dussehra rallies on Wednesday by Shiv Sena by its two rival factions — led by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and his predecessor Uddhav Thackeray. The event is being billed as a show of strength by both factions after the Shinde camp broke away from the party to form a new government in the state. 

While Uddhav Thackeray will address Shiv Sena's traditional Dussehra rally at Shivaji Park, CM Eknath Shinde will hold the event at Bandra-Kurla Complex. Shinde faction had also wanted to hold the Dussehra rally at Shivaji Park, but the matter had reached the Bombay High Court. The court had ruled in favour of the Thackeray faction after which the Shinde faction decided to organize its rally at the Bandra-Kurla complex.

Amid the two rallies which will try to bask maximum spotlight and crowd in a show of strength, the Mumbai Police has come up with security measures to avoid any situation of conflict in the city. 

Uddhav Thackeray's Dussehra Rally 

The Thackeray faction will hold the Dussehra rally at Shivaji park in central Mumbai. To maintain the law and order situation during the event, 2 Deputy Commissioner of Police, 3 Additional Commissioner of Police, 17 police inspectors, and 60 Assistant Police Inspectors/Police Sub-Inspectors will be deployed. 

65 Police Havaldars, 2 platoons of Riot Control Police, 5 security force strip, 2 Quick Response Teams and 5 mobile vehicles will also remain deployed at Shivaji park. 

Shinde's Dussehra Rally 

At CM Shinde’s first Dussehra rally at MMRDA ground in Bandra-Kurla complex 4 Deputy Commissioner of Police, 4 Assistant Commissioner of Police, 66 police inspectors, 217 Assistant Police Inspectors/Police Sub-Inspectors will ensure the law and order situation. 

1,095 Police personnel, 410 Police Havaldars, 8 platoons of Riot Control Police, 5 security force strips, 5 Quick Response Teams, and 14 mobile vehicles will be deployed at the venue.
