Travelling By Train In April? Railways Cancels 14 Major Trains, Full List Released

Passengers from Maharashtra, West Bengal, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, and Delhi may also face disruptions in the railway services between April 5 and April 24.

The Indian Railways has decided to temporarily cancel several trains running on the Bilaspur–Raipur route under the South East Central Railway (SECR), which may inconvenience passengers across multiple states.

The disruption is due to large-scale maintenance and infrastructure upgrades on this route. Repair work is underway at Gondia Railway Station, including platform renovation and track improvements, leading to the temporary closure of the main line. In addition, new track-laying work is ongoing in the Jharsuguda section, while yard modernisation is being carried out at Akaltara station. These projects have affected train operations.

States Likely to Be Impacted

The impact will not be limited to Chhattisgarh. Passengers from Maharashtra, West Bengal, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, and Delhi may also face disruptions, as several key trains connecting these regions have been cancelled.

Between April 5 and April 24, a total of 14 trains, including 10 express and 4 passenger trains, have been cancelled on different dates. Major affected trains include the Shalimar–Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Express, Korba–Amritsar Chhattisgarh Express, Hazrat Nizamuddin–Raigarh Gondwana Express, Gyaneshwari Express, and Visakhapatnam–Hazrat Nizamuddin Express.

Advisory for Passengers

Railways have advised passengers to check their train status before travelling. This can be done via the NTES app or the official railway website to avoid last-minute inconvenience.
