J&K: Terror Module Busted In South Kashmir's Anantnag; Militant, Associate Arrested With Arms And Ammunitions
The arrested militant has been identified as Ayaaz Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Shirpora Bala village and had recently joined Jaish.
Srinagar: In a swift action, Jammu and Kashmir police busted a militant module of jaish-e-mohammad which was planning cop killing and weapon snatching in the Anantnag town. Two Jaish cadres, one active militant and his associate were arrested.
Acting on specific inputs, Police, with the help of the Army, had laid nakas at multiple places and conducted intensified checking. During checking one militant was apprehended, and one Chinese pistol with 7 live rounds was recovered from his possession.
The arrested militant has been identified as Ayaaz Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Shirpora Bala village and had recently joined Jaish.
Acting upon the information provided by the arrested militant, further raids were conducted to apprehend other militants of the module. As the module had planned to attack security forces with a grenade in Anantnag town. surprise nakas at multiple places were placed as well.
And during checking one militant associate of militant outfit JEM, identified as Rayees Ahmad Mir was apprehended. Rayees is a resident of Pampore in Pulwama and had travelled to Anantnag to carry out the grenade attack, which was recovered from his possession.
Further investigations are going on to arrest other members of the module, most of whom have been recruited during recent months.
