Tension prevails in Saharanpur after Bhim Army leader's brother shot dead

New Delhi: The brother of Bhim Army's district president died of a gunshot injury on Wednesday, triggering tension in the area. Sachin Walia was shot at by unknown assailants and he succumbed to the gunshot wound at the district hospital in Saharanpur, triggering tension in the area. His brother Kamal Walia heads the Saharanpur district unit of the Dalit outfit. But the victim's family has alleged that it was murder. The police booked four people following a complaint by Walia's mother. But they said it was not immediately clear if this was a case of murder, implying that it could be an accident. The body of the Sachin Walia was handed over to the police by the family. Amnesty International India also demanded a probe into the killing of the brother of Bhim Army's Saharanpur president. As a precautionary measure, Internet service in the area has been shut down in the area. Last year, Dalits in Saharanpur district faced several alleged caste-based attacks and violence on Maharana Pratap Jayanti.
