Man Kills Daughter’s Boyfriend On His Birthday In Telangana, Honour Killing Suspected
Sai Kumar, who had discontinued his education, was in a relationship with the woman from the same village for the past two years.

In an alleged case of caste-based killing, a young man was brutally murdered by his girlfriend’s father in Muppirithotha village, Peddapalli district, Telangana. The victim, Sai Kumar, was attacked with an axe while celebrating his birthday with friends on Thursday night.
The Tragic Incident
Sai Kumar, who had discontinued his education, was in a relationship with a woman from the same village for the past two years, as per a report on IANS. However, her father, Muthyam Saraiah, was strongly opposed to the relationship due to caste differences. He also reportedly warned him against the relationship.
Against this backdrop, on Thursday night, as Kumar was cutting his birthday cake with friends on the outskirts of the village, Saraiah arrived unexpectedly and launched a brutal attack.
An eyewitness recounted the scene: "The accused suddenly attacked Kumar when he was cutting the cake. Kumar tried to run, but after covering some distance, he collapsed. The attacker struck again mercilessly."
Kumar’s friends attempted to stop the assailant, but Saraiah managed to flee. Kumar was immediately rushed to a hospital in an autorickshaw, but he succumbed to his injuries on the way.
Kumar’s father, Parshuramulu, revealed that they had previously warned the police about threats to his son’s life, reported Daijiworld.
"We had complained to the police that Kumar was facing a threat. The woman's father had been plotting this for five months. If the police had taken our complaint seriously and called them for counseling, my son would still be alive today," he said.
Following the murder, police registered a case based on the family's complaint and launched an investigation. Security in the village has been tightened to prevent any further tension.
This tragic incident has once again raised concerns about honour killings in India, particularly due to caste-based opposition to relationships.
