The outlet, identified as Alien Emo Tattoo's in Melachinthamani, was reportedly active near Chathiram bus stand in Trichy for over a month.
The Trichy police arrested two individuals for operating a tattoo shop illegally and offering tongue-splitting services for cosmetic purposes near Chathiram bus stand. According to the police, the duo promoted the risky procedure through social media videos and had plans to expand their operations by opening additional branches. Following an investigation, the shop was sealed by Trichy Corporation on Sunday night.
The outlet, identified as Alien Emo Tattoo's in Melachinthamani, was reportedly active near Chathiram bus stand in Trichy for over a month. The action comes after a trending video that showed S Hariharan, the owner of the tattoo shop, performing a tongue-splitting surgery on V Jayaraman, reported The Hindu. The video shot at the parlour was also shared by the accused on his social media page.
Soon, the officials found out that the establishment was providing unauthorised services such as tongue splitting, eyeball tattooing and body piercing without the necessary licences, including a trade licence, as per a report on Times of India.
