Sushant Singh Rajput Case: BMC Releases Bihar IPS Officer Vinay Tiwari From Quarantine In Mumbai

The release of the IPS officer from quarantine comes after Bihar Police wrote to the BMC Commissioner requesting the release of Vinay Tiwari.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Friday granted permission for the release of Bihar IPS officer Vinay Tiwari from quarantine. The Patna cop who was sent by the Bihar Police to lead the probe into the Sushant Singh Rajput death case was sent by the BMC on a 14-day quarantine soon after his arrival in Mumbai on August 2. The release of the IPS officer from quarantine comes after Bihar Police wrote to the BMC Commissioner requesting the release of Vinay Tiwari. The Bihar Police Headquarters has written a letter to the BMC Commissioner, making a reference of the remarks of the Honourable Supreme Court, requesting release of Bihar's IPS Vinay Tiwari from quarantine and thereby facilitating his return to Bihar. We are awaiting their decision!" tweeted DGP Gupteshwar Pandey in Hindi. It is notable that a team of four officers of Bihar Police investigating the sudden death case of the bollywood actor in Mumbai had returned back to Patna on Thursday and met Inspector General to submit a report on the case. A war of words broke out between Bihar and Mumbai police after Gupteshwar Pandey, DGP Bihar, had alleged that Mumbai Police, which initially started the probe into the Sushant Singh Rajput death case, was not cooperating with his officials. Both Mumbai and Bihar Police have been engaged in a tug of war over the actor's death case with Maharashtra government contending that Bihar had no jurisdiction in the matter since the death took place outside the state. Bihar Police started investigating the case after the deceased actor Sushant Rajput's father filed an First Information Report (FIR) in Patna on July 25, accusing Rhea Chakraborty of abetting the actor's suicide, keeping him in wrongful confinement, and defrauding him of crores of rupees.
