Sheena Bora Murder Case: Indrani Mukerjea Walks Out Of Jail, Her Jet Black Hair Draws Eyeballs
Mukerjea walked out of prison after she furnished a surety of Rs 2 lakh as mandated by a Mumbai CBI court.
New Delhi: Former media executive Indrani Mukerjea walked out of the Byculla Jail on Friday, nearly seven years after she was arrested for allegedly murdering her daughter Sheena Bora. Mukerjea walked out of prison after she furnished a surety of Rs 2 lakh as mandated by a Mumbai CBI court. The Supreme Court on Wednesday granted bail to Mukerjea. "I am very happy," news agency ANI quoted Mukerjea as saying as she walked out of the prison.

"I am just going home...Empathy and forgiveness...I have forgiven all the people who have hurt me. I have learned a lot in the jail," she said as she walked out.
According to report by news agency PTI, sporting jet black hair, Mukerjea came out of the prison around 5.30 pm and was seen leaving in a car. Her lawyer was present to receive her outside the Byculla prison.
Indrani smiled at the mediapersons as she stepped out of the prison on Friday.
Her changed appearance prompted a flurry of comments on social media. "So they have beauty parlours in jail", read a tweet.
It is to be noted that the trial court on Thursday had asked her to submit a provisional cash bond of Rs 2 lakh.
The Special judge for CBI cases, in the order, had said that Mukerjea must surrender her passport before the special court and also not leave India without the permission of the court.
The court also directed Indrani to not contact any of the witnesses in the case or tamper with any evidence. She must attend the trial and not seek any adjournments, the court further said.
"If there is any breach of the above conditions, the prosecution shall be at liberty to apply for cancelation of bail," judge VC Barde said in his order, according to the PTI report.
"The accused is ready to furnish cash bail provisionally. She may be released on bail upon furnishing the cash bail bond," the order further said.
Notably, Indrani Mukerjea is accused of murdering her daughter Sheena Bora (24) in April 2012, with the help of her then driver Shyamvar Rai, and former husband Sanjeev Khanna.
