'Vinash Kale Viprit Buddhi': Shatrughan Sinha Hits Out At PM Modi Over Rahul Gandhi's Disqualification
TMC leader Shatrughan Sinha took a direct shot at PM Modi, saying, "vinash kale viprit buddhi." He also said that this move will not only protect democracy but will also help the opposition win seats.
Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Shatrughan Sinha on Sunday took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that Rahul Gandhi's disqualification from Lok Sabha has brought together the Opposition. He said that this was a serious issue that had brought together Opposition leaders such as Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee.
Sinha said the disqualification will not only "protect democracy but also help the Opposition win over 100 seats in the Lok Sabha elections next year.
Making a jab at the prime minister Sinha said, that what the BJP and PM Modi has tried to do exemplified the Hindi proverb "vinash kale viprit buddhi". It means one tends to think in a negative or self-injurious manner when the time for destruction comes.
"...I thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi. What they did exemplifies 'Vinash Kale Viprit Buddhi. This will not only protect democracy but will also help Rahul Gandhi and the opposition in gaining an advantage of 100+ seats...," news agency ANI quoted him as saying.

BJP leader Agnimitra Paul said: "I think Shatrughan Sinha is planning to join Congress as Trinamool Congress is not giving him an opportunity that’s why he is talking like that". She further said that the court has given this order on basis of which the Congress leader was disqualified.

The Congress held a day-long 'Satyagraha' in support of Rahul Gandhi in front of Gandhi statues in all states and district headquarters on Sunday to protest his disqualification from the Lok Sabha.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, and senior leaders KC Venugopal, P Chidambaram, and Salman Khurshid were among those taking part in the Rajghat Satyagraha.
To protest the disqualification, the party has announced plans for a day-long satyagraha in front of Mahatma Gandhi statues in all states and district headquarters.
Gandhi was disqualified from the Lok Sabha on Friday, a day after a court in Surat, Gujarat, convicted him in a defamation case in 2019. Gandhi (52), a four-time MP, will be barred from running for office for the next eight years unless the conviction is overturned by a higher court.
