'Rule Of The Gun In UP': AIMIM Chief Owaisi Demands SC Monitored Investigation In Atiq, Ashraf Ahmed Shooting
AIMIM chief said killing of Atiq Ahmed and his brother in Prayagraj was a "cold-blooded" murder and the whole incident raises a big question about the law and order situation in UP.
Demanding Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's resignation, Asaduddin Owaisi, chief of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) party, accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in the state of having a role in the shooting of gangster-turned politician Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf on Saturday. Hyderabad MP, in a press conference on Sunday, called for an investigation into the incident under the supervision of the Supreme Court stating that no officer from UP should be involved in the investigation.
"The BJP government in Uttar Pradesh is not running the government by the rule of law. The government is running with the rule of the gun," Owaisi said in a statement on Sunday.

AIMIM chief said the killing of Atiq Ahmed and his brother in Prayagraj was a "cold-blooded" murder. He questioned how did the three miscreants get those weapons and why were they allegedly chanting religious slogans after the shooting.
"How did they (killers) get those weapons?... Why were they raising religious slogans after killing them? What will you call them if not terrorists? Will you call them Patriots?" AIMIM chief Owaisi said on Atiq-Ashraf's murder.
