'Responsibility Of Making India A Developed Country Rests On Your Shoulders': PM Modi To NCC Cadets

PM Modi further appealed to the young cadets to take part in the government schemes that will help the country in its growth.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday interacted with the NCC cadets, NSS volunteers and the performers who are a part of this year's Republic Day programme and said the responsibility of making India a developed country rests on the shoulders of the youth.

Prime Minister Modi welcomed the cadets and extended his wishes ahead of the Republic Day celebration on Thursday.

“The 'Yuva Samvad' holds special importance for me for two factors - Youth have energy, enthusiasm, zeal and novelty and through you, the positivity inspires me to work hard day and night. In this Azadi ka Amrit Kaal, all of you represent country's aspirations and dreams,” news agency ANI quoted PM Modi as saying.

“You are going to be the greatest beneficiaries of developed India and the biggest responsibility to build this rests on your shoulders,” he further said.

“We have been working on Vibrant Border villages that will help in development. This will also generate more education and employment opportunities in the border areas,” he said, adding, “In order to reach your goal, you will have to work with everyone with a team spirit. It is only when you work with others will your success be seen as a development of the entire country as a whole.”

He further appealed to the young cadets to take part in the government schemes that will help the country in its growth.

Meanwhile, President Droupadi Murmu will address the nation that will be broadcast at 7pm on Wednesday, Rashtrapati Bhavan said in a statement.

It is to be noted that this will be Murmu’s first Republic Day address and her second address to the nation since she assumed office in July last year.

Earlier, Murmu had addressed the nation on the eve of Independence Day last year where she touched upon various issues starting from overthrowing colonial rulers to the empowerment of women. This year's address will be live-streamed on the YouTube channel of Doordarshan National.
