Eve Of Republic Day 2022: President Kovind’s Address To The Nation — When & Where To Watch

As a custom, on the eve of Republic Day, that is today, the President of the country Ram Nath Kovind will address the nation.

New Delhi: As the country heads towards its 73rd Republic Day, the preparations are done to celebrate India becoming a sovereign republic, coming out of the British monarchy.

The day holds a special place as it commemorates the day on which India’s constitution came into effect and became the sole document at the roots of the country’s growth.

The Republic Day celebrations usually begin on January 24, however, from this year onwards they would be commenced on January 23 to incorporate the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.

When & Where To Watch President’s Address On 73rd Republic Day Eve

President Ram Nath Kovid will be addressing the nation at 7 PM today i.e January 25. President Kovind's speech will be broadcast live on all national channels of All India Radio, and telecast all over the channels of Doordarshan in Hindi. 

The Hindi speech will be followed by the English version. Once the English and Hindi versions are done, the speech will be broadcast in regional languages. 

The regional language versions will also be broadcast by the All India Radio on its respective channels from 9:30 PM onwards.

The speech can be accessed live on the Twitter handle of Press Information Bureau India or DD National’s YouTube channel.

The 73rd Republic Day Amid Covid-19

This year, due to the covid-19 situation in the country, the number of people who can attend the Republic Day parade has been reduced to 5,000-8,000. Earlier, around 1.25 lakh people used to attend the parade. 

This year as well, following the previous year, there will be no chief guest in the parade. This is the second year in a row that India has had no chief guest in the Republic Day parade considering the covid-19 situation in the country.
