'Rajasthan CM Doesn't Trust His MLAs, They Also Don't Trust Him': PM Modi's Dig At Gehlot-Pilot Tussle

PM Modi was on a visit to Rajasthan today where he dedicated and laid the foundation stone of infrastructure projects worth over Rs 5,500 crores during his visit.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday took a dig at the ruling Congress in Rajasthan and the infighting between Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot saying Rajasthan CM does not trust his MLA and neither do they trust him. Prime Minister Modi was on a visit to Rajasthan today where he dedicated and laid the foundation stone of infrastructure projects worth over Rs 5,500 crores during his visit. "For the last five years in Rajasthan, you are witnessing a nasty form of political fight," said the PM targeting the incumbent Congress party.

"Instead of working in the interest of public, a game is going to save the chair," he said.

"What sort of government is this where CM does not trust his MLAs and the MLAs don't trust their CM. Everyone is trying to humuliate each other within the government," Modi said.

He said that due to the infighting, the law and order of the state has been "completely destroyed".

The tussle between Gehlot and former Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot comes to the fore often. Last month Pilot went on a day long strike against the Chief Minister of his own party demanding investigations into graf charges during previous Vasundhara Raje-led government in the state.

The PM also trained guns against the ruling Congress saying it was following a policy of "appeasement" and taking a soft stand against terrorists, as he blamed the acquittal of the 2008 Jaipur serial blasts accused on this.

Referring to the 2008 Jaipur serial blasts, the prime minister alleged that the Congress government in the state did not fight the case strongly, leading to the acquittals.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a public rally in Rajasthan, the same day when Karnataka is undergoing polls for its 224-Legislative Assembly.
