Rajasthan Budget 2022: Employees Appointed After Jan 1, 2004 Also Eligible For Pension Scheme

Rajasthan Budget: CM Ashok Gehlot has announced that government employees appointed from Jan 1, 2004 will be eligible for pension schemes.

New Delhi: Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot presented the state Budget 2022-23 today and announced that all Rajasthan Govt employees appointed on or after 1st January 2004 will be entitled to pension scheme like earlier (older version of the scheme) from next year onwards.

 It was the fourth budget of Gehlot's third tenure as the chief minister. Gehlot holds the finance portfolio. 

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot also announced the implementation of the Indira Gandhi Urban Employment Guarantee Scheme for employment in cities. From next year, urban areas will get 100 days of employment on the lines of MGNREGA. It will cost Rs 800 crore.

With this, it has been announced to increase the 100 days of employment in MGNREGA to 125 days. It will cost Rs 700 crore, the cost of which will be borne by the state government. National Rural Employment Guarantee Act 2005 (NREGA 42, which was later renamed as Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, MGNREGA), is Indian labour law and social security measure aimed at the 'right to work'. It aims to provide at least 100 days of employment in a financial year to enhance the security of employment in rural areas. 

Gehlot also announced that new nursing colleges will be opened in 18 districts. He further said that Rs 100 crore for expansion of facilities in hospitals will be given. Rajasthan Micro Irrigation Mission will be started at a cost of Rs 2000 crores, will benefit 4 lakh farmers.
