‘Not Even Balasaheb Could Do This’: Raj Thackeray's Dig At Fadnavis For Reunion With Uddhav

Raj Uddhav Thackeray Rally: The reunion of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray and the Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray played out publicly at a rally held at NSCI Dome in Worli.

Raj Uddhav Thackeray Rally: In a dramatic and emotionally charged development in Maharashtra's political landscape, estranged cousins Raj Thackeray and Uddhav Thackeray came together after nearly two decades to jointly oppose the state government's proposed three-language policy, which later triggered a pause in the implementation of the controversial move. The reunion of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief and the Shiv Sena (UBT) leader played out publicly at a rally held at NSCI Dome in Worli.

The rally, organised under the banner of Marathi language and cultural unity, marks a significant shift in Maharashtra’s political current, as observers speculate whether this show of solidarity might pave the way for a broader political realignment ahead of the 2024 local body and 2026 Assembly elections.

'Fadnavis Did What Balasaheb Couldn't': Raj Thackeray

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) Raj Thackeray said, as per ANI, "I had said in one of my interviews that my Maharashtra is bigger than any politics and fight. Today, after 20 years, Uddhav and I have come together. What Balasaheb could not do, Devendra Fadnavis did it... The work of bringing both of us together..."

“A Historic Moment”: Opposition Takes Aim at BJP-Led Govt

Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Arvind Sawant called the rally a turning point, stating: “This is a historic moment. When families are being divided and people targeted on the basis of caste, the two Thackeray brothers have reunited—not for power, but for the pride of Maharashtra.”

He accused the BJP-led Mahayuti government of undermining state identity through policies that dilute linguistic and cultural roots. “Every state has its own identity. The language of the land must be respected,” he said.

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Anand Dubey told ANI, "After many years, this golden time has arrived, where today both Thackerays, who are well-established brands, are coming together, not because of politics, but for the sake of Maharashtra's honour... An honour that the BJP wants to suppress and crush. BJP wants to stay in Maharashtra but says 'Jai Gujarat,' but it will not happen. Maharashtra will always be first, then other states will come..."
