Rahul Gandhi Writes To Donald Trump After Election Win, Here's What He Wrote
Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, congratulated US President-elect Donald Trump on his victory.
Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi on Friday wrote to US President-elect Donald Trump congratulating him on his victory. The Congress leader hoped that under Trump's leadership, India and the US would further deepen cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
"I would like to congratulate you on your election as the 47th President of the United States of America. The people have placed their trust in your vision for the future," the letter read.
"India and the United States of America share a historic friendship rooted in our commitment to democratic values. Under your leadership, we are confident that our nations will further deepen cooperation in areas of mutual interest," Gandhi said.

"I also hope that we will continue to work towards expanding avenues and opportunities for both, Indians and Americans," he added.
Gandhi also wished Trump "the very best during your second term as President of the United States of America."
In another letter addressed to outgoing Vice President and Trump's contender, Kamala Harris, Gandhi said her unifying message of hopy will continue to inspire many.

"I would like to congratulate you on your spirited Presidential campaign. Your unifying message of hope will continue to inspire many," said the LoP in the letter.
"Under the Biden administration, India and the United States have deepened cooperation on issues of global importance. Our shared commitment to democratic values will continue to guide our friendship. As the Vice-President, your determination to bring people together and find common ground will be remembered," he added.
