Punjab RPG Attack Case: Aide Of Terrorist Lakhbir Landa And Key Accused Held In Mohali

Gurpinder alias Pindu, the main suspect in the 2022 Mohali RPG attack, was arrested by Punjab Police. He is reported to be a close associate of a Canadian-based terrorist.

Punjab Police stated on Friday that an associate of Canadian-based terrorist Lakhbir Singh Landa has been apprehended in connection with the Mohali RPG attack.

On May 9, last year, a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) was shot into the Punjab Police intelligence headquarters in Mohali.

Gurpinder alias Pindu was allegedly involved in the RPG attack in Mohali, according to Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav, and he is the 11th accused arrested in the Mohali RPG attack case, news agency PTI reported.

Pindu, a resident of Bhura Kona village in Khemkaran, stated he was in constant contact with accused Nishan Singh and Charhat Singh during the attack and is a close acquaintance of Canada-based terrorist Lakhbir Singh alias Landa.

According to Yadav, on April 25, last year suspects Charhat Singh, Nishan Singh, and Baljinder Rambo carried a cargo of RPGs and assault rifles from Tarn Taran to Amritsar and stored them in Pindu's house near Alpha Mall in Amritsar, as stated in the report.

He further stated that the accused had provided shelter to both shooters — Deepak and a juvenile — at his home on the same night.

After the arrest of accused Gurpinder Pindu, police have now apprehended nine people in this case, while another suspect, a juvenile who carried out the attack, was caught by the Delhi Police.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) apprehended one additional suspect, Deepak Kumar, bringing the total number of arrests to 11, they stated.
