Punjab polls: Navjot Singh Sidhu to 'merge' Awaaz-e-Punjab with Congress soon
New Delhi: Former Member of Parliament, Navjot Singh Sidhu, who very recently broke his ties with Bhartiya Janta party, in the wake of his desire to become the party’s Punjab CM candidate; is now mulling to shake hands with Congress, which according to latest opinion polls; is at a leading position in the state and is set to get 49 to 55 seats out of the 117.
Sidhu is trying to get the Punjab CM seat by hook or by crook. According to reports, Sidhu after facing rejection from the BJP; turned towards Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party and was bluntly declined a position there as well.
According to the sources, after facing rejection from AAP, Sidhu put forth a suggestion in front of Congress, where he sought “sidelining of Capt. Amrinder Singh and handing him over the command of Punjab”, the demand was declined by the party.
According to ABP News’ sources, Congress and Sidhu have finally come to the terms and Congress party is mulling to give 6 seats to Sidhu’s Awaaaz-e-Punjab.
Also, Sidhu may get a Lok Sabha seart from Amritsar, long with his supporters who could get a ministerial post in Punjab.
The big announcement can be expected any time soon.
