Punished For Speaking Truth: Rajasthan Minister Rajendra Gudha After Getting Sacked From Gehlot Cabinet

Rajendra Singh Gudha has said that he was sacked from the Rajasthan cabinet for speaking truth.

Hours after being sacked from CM Ashok Gehlot-led Rajasthan cabinet, Rajendra Singh Gudha said that he has been punished for speaking the truth. Talking to the media, he said that he was elected by the women of Udaipurwati so that he can protect them and uphold their dignity, but 'day by day, crimes against women are increasing in Rajasthan'. The former minister said the state has become number one when it comes to crimes against women.

"I speak the truth always, that is who I am... I got punished for speaking the truth"," Gudha said.

He further said, " I was elected by the women of Udaipurwati so that I can protect them and uphold their dignity, but day by day, crimes against women are increasing in Rajasthan...this state has become no. 1 when it comes to crimes against women...we need to retrospect or else how will we face people? This was all I said..."

"Public will stay with me, I will work for them. Whether he (Ashok Gehlot) removes me from the cabinet or sends me to jail, I will keep speaking until I am alive. Women in our state are not safe. Rajasthan is number 1 in atrocities on women. The state government has failed to provide security to women. I wanted to ask Ashok Gehlot to do something on this issue... Police in the state are corrupt, they are busy taking bribes from people," he added.

Talking about his loyalty to the Gehlot government, Gudha said, "I did not commit any crime by making such a statement... I left no stone unturned to strengthen the state govt. I always stood by Ashok Gehlot whenever there was a problem."

On Friday, Rajasthan Governor accepted with immediate effect the recommendation of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot to sack state minister Rajendra Singh Gudha from the state cabinet, Raj Bhawan informed, as per news agency ANI. This comes after Gudha criticised the Congress government over recent incidents of crimes against women in the state. He questioned his own government's work in tackling the crimes against women, even as his colleagues slammed the Manipur violence.

Meanwhile, Rajasthan Congress Co-Incharge Amrita Dhawan said that Gudha should have been sacked earlier for his 'remarks' on Goddess Sita.

"Rajendra Gudha should have been sacked earlier as the Rajasthan minister...His earlier statement on Goddess Sita was not accepted by the party. It will not be acceptable if he speaks BJP's language while being part of Congress. He was given multiple chances and should have been sacked earlier...," she told ANI.
