Priyanka Gandhi Returns To Wayanad As MP, Jabs BJP: 'Knows No Democratic Norms'
Rahul Gandhi, who accompanied Priyanka Gandhi to Wayanad, insisted every member of Congress party to put pressure on Centre to help landslide victims.
Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, fresh off her resounding maiden electoral victory from the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat, began her two-day visit to Kerala on Saturday, expressing her commitment to working for the development of the hill constituency.
Speaking to reporters upon her arrival at Karipur airport, Priyanka said, "I am happy to be back here and am ready to start working. I will do whatever I can to help the people of Wayanad have a better future."
Later, addressing a public meeting, Priyanka said, "I am in Parliament for you. It is your voice I will raise, it is your problem that I will try to resolve, it is your belief, your values, your hopes and aspirations that I will stand for each and every day from now until the end."

Addressing a public meeting, Congress LoP Rahul Gandhi said, "I would like to start by paying tribute to the victims of Mundakkai and Chooralmala. We all stand by the people who have lost family members, property, and have suffered. While I was on my way here, we were discussing what we could do for those who suffered as a result of the tragedy."
"Unfortunately, since we are not in government, we cannot take the same actions as the ruling government. Therefore, every member of the Congress party and UDF should put pressure on the government to help the victims. We also remember the spirit of the people who were victims of the tragedy, and we acknowledge how the people of Kerala came together to support the people of Wayanad," he said.
This marks Priyanka Gandhi’s first visit to Wayanad after securing a landslide victory in the Lok Sabha bypoll, where she won by a margin of 4,10,931 votes—significantly surpassing the lead her brother, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, achieved in the earlier general elections.
Priyanka’s visit includes a series of public engagements, starting with a joint meeting alongside her brother and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi. The meeting is scheduled to be held at Mukkam in the Thiruvambady assembly segment of Kozhikode district.
As per the itinerary released by the Congress party, Priyanka will attend receptions in Karulai in Nilambur, Wandoor, and Edavanna in Eranad. These engagements aim to connect with the people across the diverse segments of her constituency.
