'Priyanka Gandhi Hasn't Spoken A Word Because Their Vote Bank...': UP Deputy CM On Shraddha Murder Case
Meanwhile, Shraddha's father Vikas Walkar on Saturday claimed he had visited Aftab's residence in Vasai earlier but was insulted and warned by his family members not to come again.
New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya on Sunday targeted Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi over the Shraddha Walkar murder case alleging that she has not “spoken a word on this incident” because “it will jeopardise their vote bank”.
Speaking to news agency ANI, Maurya said, “Congress' Priyanka Gandhi says 'beti hun lad sakti hun' but has not spoken a word on this incident. Why is she silent? Because speaking something here would jeopardise their vote banks.”
Shraddha Walkar, who was reported missing six months ago, was killed by her live-in partner, Aftab Ameen Poonawala at their Delhi’s Chhatarpur flat on May 18, said the Delhi Police last week. Aftab had then cut Shraddha’s corpse into 35 pieces which he stacked in a 300-litre refrigerator, specially brought for the purpose, and would dispose of the pieces at different places in the city at midnight.

Speaking with ABP News on the incident, Maurya said that “Aftab is a monster as what he did cannot be done by humans. The soul shivers after hearing all this.”
The UP Deputy Chief Minister added that the incident is a lesson for all the girls on how to stay away from people with such mentality and be aware so that no one makes them a victim.
"We will take all those steps that the government should take to stop such heinous crimes and to punish the killers," he asserted. The BJP leader said that in such cases, the killers should be punished severely as soon as possible.

Visited Aftab’s Residence, But Was Insulted Warned Not To Come Again: Shraddha’s Father
Meanwhile, Shraddha's father Vikas Walkar on Saturday claimed he had visited Aftab's residence in Vasai earlier but was insulted and warned by his family members not to come again.
Speaking to ABP Majha, he said he was not aware when his daughter shifted to Delhi, where she was killed in May this year.
The father said that he had visited Aftab's residence (at Vasai in the Palghar district of Maharashtra) to find a solution to the issue (about their relationship) but he was insulted by Aftab's cousin.
"His (Aftab's) family members had warned me not to visit their residence again. After the death of my wife, the efforts to find a solution were stopped," he told the news channel.
"I had tried to convince Shraddha (to walk out of the relationship) but she wouldn't listen," he added.
